YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER UPGRADE WORDPRESS within the first 2-4 weeks of its release in order to give developers time to upgrade their plugins/themes.
“ALWAYS” backup your site before updating “anything” including adding new plugins or themes!!! If you don’t know how contact your host and they will assist you.
WHEN YOU UPGRADE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO AVOID DISASTER:
1. PUT YOUR SITE INTO maintenance mode
2. DISABLE ALL PLUGINS
2. UPGRADE WP
3. RE-ACTIVATE YOUR PLUGINS 1 BY 1 to see if there’s an issue with any of your plugins and the new WordPress update! After re-activating each plugin check to see if it has an update available and update it before going on to the next. If you find issues when enabling a plugin disable the plugin & contact their support to see if a new version has been released that is compatible with the new WordPress update.
After updating WordPress per the above instructions and find that you are having an issue with “our plugins” specifically please let us know.

We recommend that you Stop WordPress Auto Updates
Some of our customers have used Easy Update Manager and Duplicator (site backup tool), without issue, however, we would caution you to be sure you always have a current site backup if you are going to “auto update”.
