Question:
When I add the text component to my blog, I get a curious “x” in the upper left of all text boxes. See the attachment for the example. So far, it occurs with every new text box.

Usually, you would see that if you use a bullet point. For headers, I would recommend simply using the heading element as in the screenshot below:
And then stacking a text/HTML element below as here:
